REGION: ASIA AND THE PACIFIC
Activities in the Asia-Pacific region have focused on the food and food processing sector, including primary agricultural products, horticulture, fisheries, aquaculture and processed food products.
Sub-regional workshops were organized to share national experiences and compare various government policies and private sector strategies currently in place in the concerned countries to improve both the export competitiveness and the environmental sustainability of food and processed food production. The workshops provided also recommendations for governments, private sector organizations and international and regional organizations to improve the export competitiveness and environmental sustainability of food production and processing.
Based on the key issues identified and recommendations made at the sub-regional workshop, a concluding regional workshop was organized to discuss the key issues identified and develop consolidated recommendations for the Asia and the Pacific region
